Massey 231

My son is thinking of buying a 1996 Massey 231 tractor. It has a front bucket, rear finish mower and a rotary brush with it. the tractor has 886 hours on it and looks to be in good condition. They are asking 9500 for all of it.

Does anyone know anything about these tractors.

No personal knowledge of that particular model, but looks about the same as my 90's model MF262. The Perkins diesels are very good and dependable.

At 38hp it is limited as to what it can do, but plenty for lighter loader work and will easily handle a bush hog. Also the Perkins 3 cylinder models like the 231 have a very smooth balance.

He Bought 97 acres of woods and pasture near Livingston Tenn. It will be mostly light duty.

Tracy's son is making a few camper hookup spots for friends and family to have a place to park and use their campers. So nice of him to make places for us old folks to come mooch electricity and a spot for campers. Reminder to self....need to get another camper! LOL

By the way, the price on the 231 with implements isn't bad at all. That size tractor is in high demand, and even better being a Massey! Let us know if he gets it and report how he likes it after using.

Don't forget the diesel engine sitting in the Quonset when you take the camper down.
