Mowing with the Ford 641

Hi I have a nice Ford 641 I mow my runway with using a Woods 6 ft finishing mower it works great plenty of power handles nice realier this summer the Proofmeter/tach stopped working so after a couple of mowing I got around to checking what the problem is turns out the cable broke. Looked in my box of Ford spares I had a used cable so today after mowing I changed the cable and its working again its amazing how much I missed having the proofmeter working not only for seeing the R's but also keeping track of use hours

Nice tractors Gary. Is your mower rear discharge ? The finish mower on my Ferguson is a Walco, I think. I could be wrong on that. But its 6 foot rear discharge, works great and cuts just as good as any of my garden tractors.

Hi Noel no its a right hand side discharge I'd like to have tried a rear discharge but I bought the woods used, prior to the woods I had a Walco Douglas I wore that mower out it was a good mower and this might be my imagination but I think it took less power than the Woods thie Wood is a bit heavier duty

Nice plane, GB. I follow a guy on Youtube named Trent Palmer that has a KitFox. He posts a lot of interesting video's.

Gary, do you use one of your garden tractors to move it in and out of the hanger, I believe that’s what there called.
The plane would not weigh very much, would it ?

Hi Noel no it is easy to move in and out of the hangar, wt is about 550 lbs

Hi John, thanks I refurbished the 641 about 10 years ago no I bought the Kitfox ,mostly done finished it up replaced the engine from a Rotax 2 stroke to a HKS 4 stroke its a 2 cylinder Japanesebuilt small aircraft engine 60 hp excellent engine only burns 3 gal per hour

Nice tractor and plane! You have a nice place there!

My boss has a 1961 Cessna 172 that I’ve gone up in a few times, it is so much fun! It makes me want to get into flying.
