My First Hydrostatic

I picked up a couple of 990"s yesterday, drove 545 kilometers round trip or 339 Miles. New to hydrostatic drive, my old 960 is just about done, clutch is completely wore out and I can't find any replacement.
The Viking with the plow runs and drives with a replacement Vanguard 16HP V Twin, got 3 parts engine with it, and a 42" cut mower deck.
The other is unknown brand, seized engine (16 HP single Briggs )
Also got a box of parts, 2 starter generators old seat and other items I haven't looked at yet.
May be asking a lot of question in the weeks to come.

the hydro in the 990 is a Peerless 2500 2 speed.... and it is a very good unit... I had the same trans in my Ford LGT165 w/fel and with foot controls for the hydro that was a very nice tractor... hydros do have some benefits... but it depends on what you want/need your tractor to do.
