From the throwout bearing and yes it does I greased real good before installWhere's all the grease on the pilot shaft coming from? Does this tractor have a greaseable throw-out bearing?
I don't plan on it either I almost rear ended a John Deere that kept stopping alot and I think that where I ruined my last throwout bearing because I had to ride my clutch alotI'm not doing the parade this year. Logan rear ended me last year. No damage, just a bump.
The newer cubs had adjustment under the pedal but the older ones I got to adjust from the inspection hole on the throw out bearing it self. I done it once before and it was a little bit of a pain but not hard hard. There's probably an external adjustment to adjust free play. You need to check that. Before hyd clutches there was always external adjustment for that on all cars and trucks.
I don't know I didn't adjust when I installed the new throwout bearing and it shifted ok other than reverse but reverse has always grinded a little. I did adjust the throwout bearing today and it shifts fine.I'm kind of curious why this would happen all the sudden? Do you have a crack in the fork? Just seems odd that it was fine the last time you ran it and now there is a bunch of free play in the linkage.
