I have been watching this GT all summer with its nose sticking out from around the side of a barn about eight miles from home. I recognized it with the double headlights on each side of the hood. Once MNGB posted his 3416 got me wanting this even more. Like most if you I don’t need this but if the price is right I got to have it.

I stopped by there today and the guy said it’s been sitting for three years, will turn over but won’t start. I had to push the grass over to look at it. His MIL sent it over to him to cut his grass but it had no belts so he parked it.

I would have given him $150. but after talking to him I could tell from the looks of his yard he likes the newer ones. I offered him $50. and without any hesitation he said yes. If I could kick myself I would, he probably would have took less. I’ll check it out tomorrow evening I’m going to pick up a deck for my 7117 in the morning on a three hour round trip I hope this works out I need that deck. Does anybody know if the deck on this 3415H fits the 7117 they really look the same.

I've never seen a Simplicity in person before Jim. Looks like it might be a B/S engine? That hydro setup is nothing like the MF1450 I have been working on. It looks like a workhorse that needs more work! That cutting deck looks bulletproof too. I'd say you probably stole that tractor! Nice score!

That is a really clean looking 3415 you don't see many with all 4 of those nifty impossible to find headlights and the rest of the tractor is in great shape, your going to have a good machine when you get it running, I'd check for spark my experience with these B&S engine is the coils go bad due to age

It is a Briggs 15hp. According to Tractordata this a 1972. I have the same engine in my Sears SS15 and it purrs like a kitten. I can’t wait until tomorrow to start checking it all out.

I like the unique headlights too I hope they work. I like the bigger Simplicity not sure on the model but they have the headlights in the rear fenders. I’m having trouble finding the deck model to order belts. All I know is it’s a 48”.

Yikes, my old nemesis, an updraft Briggs carb.
Hydro is a Vickers T66x.
Do you know what model number this deck is. It’s a 48”. I need the spindle belt and the drive belt. I’ve been looking on line and they are a lot of different model numbers on these. Thanks

That deck will work on your 7116 but it takes a longer belt as the tractor is longer. I find if I put my tractor model number on the Part's T page it will give schematics and part numbers. I got a deck from a 7117 and used it on my 7012. you can take the part numbers to Tractor supple and get belts there.

You got a lot better deal on your 3415 H than I did on my 3415 S but I got a replacement BGB with it but no deck.

These are the belt on my 3415 48" deck Deck belt A85 / 1/2" X 87" Drive belt 4L710 / A 69
Thanks a bunch I just ordered them and will pick them up this evening. I’m going to find the manual for this and download it ASAP.

I had a gut feeling they would interchange. My plans now are making this 3415 a grass cutter and leaving the rear mount tiller on the 7117. I’m really liking these Simplicity’s.

Nice looking tractor Jim. Never seen one up close. Is there a Allis Chalmers version ?

Noel
Hi Noel the AC's were pretty much the same but Allis used Kohler's for the most part and Simplicity used B&S mostly, Allis Chalmers bought Simplicity in 1965 and then in 1985 Simplicity management bought Simplicity back and were on their own until 2004 when B&S bought the line

Well, well the ole girl woke right up with a shot of starter fluid. I didn’t do a thing. It misses a little revving up but holds a good high and low throttle. The tranny seems to be good in forward and reverse. All the fluids are up and clean. I’m going to clean and gap the points and spark plug, then clean the contacts on the condenser, change the fuel filter, and replace the negative battery terminal it’s a round top post type the positive is the garden tractor type. MNGB found the belt numbers for me so I ordered them for the deck. I had to replace a front tire that was split and wouldn’t hold air. Next up I’ll pull the deck off and see what I got there. The headlight plug needs cleaned then reconnected. Right now they don’t work but I’m hoping a good cleaning will fix that. Overall I couldn’t be more pleased. Thanks everyone for your replies and help.

Well I got three out of four lights working just a cleaning on the inside of the plug. When I take the carb off to clean I want to take this choke lever off and heat it a little to bend it back so I can reattach the choke cable.
