Putting together another wood rack

Have room for one more wood rack. This one will be 98" long X 72" tall X 12" wide. Should hold a good bunch of wood. I'll post some pics later.

My thoughts too. Already have one with nearly those same dimensions, the other is only 48" tall. Have two more that are 5' X 5' square. So I can have plenty of wood on hand.

I got the rack built and moved in place.


Then I went to work cutting wood. Those were fun to cut and load. The Stihl 210C did a great job on them.


All that is split.



And stacked.



I'll go after more when the rain quits.

Cut some more wood today. None was less than 18" dia. Hard on this old fart. But I filled the rack some more.

It's a 22 ton splitter. No pics right now.

And it was having thoughts about splitting some of this!

Looks like a vertical splitter? Last time I burnt wood for heat was in the 1980's and I was the splitter.

It can be used either way. Just like the vertical position with these big chunks.

Here's today's update. Got the new rack filled and making another. Got 2/3 of this more to cut/split.

It's one of the smaller sizes around here!

Normal gas operated ones around here are about 10 to 15 ton.

TSC here has them all the way up to 40-ton.

Finished off what I am doing for now. Ended up with more than 2/3 cord. And I am whopped! This is this morning!

No wood workin for me today. Was helpin son put a lower ball joint in rambler. Got that in, and was gunna do the other side. But we figured we could wait to do it, because it’s not that bad. So, son is going to NS for weekend, and we thought I could drive it a bit. He had a good thought to check and see it lights all worked. Hehe, no brake lights. No driving this weekend. Part ordered from rock auto.

Maybe next weekend I can drive it. Hehe. Runnin out time. Be in storage soon.
