I did a quick search, the consensus is that it is possible, but very rare for the chicks to hatch successfully. They either die during hatching or one dies early and then poisons the other killing it.
My wife had a Americana hen that laid a double yoke about twice a week. It was a real pretty egg kind of a mint green shell in color & a little larger in size. Sadly to say that one is gone now but the two other Americana's she has lay double yokes occasionally.
