Sears ST16 from the pasture

St10 I believe 76?

Looks like this one

I have a hard time getting off and on without stepping on the deck. Plus I like to be able to move my knee around. Leaving it in one place for too long hurts

Can you lower the deck so the wheels are on the ground then step on the deck? I do that with my Cub and the 50" deck, deck is suported on the wheels and rollers and not of the lift brackets.

Wonder if you could adapt some long board from a suburban to that tractor? I do know the front half of the frame drops an inch or two unlike the suburbans so you would have to do some cutting and also cut a relief for the deck adjuster.

That's what I do but I still dont like stepping on it. Wheels in the rear and just skids in the front. It still tilts side to side as it doesn't drop fully

My Cub had the big height adjusting knob on the right side. Quick and easy to drop it to the ground and then back to a marked position. If they don't drop to the ground it can get hard on the mounting brackets.

This ST16 is one of the nicer Suburbans out of the two loads that I drug home that had sat in a swampy pasture.
These tractors had been there several years.
This one isn't real bad off.
Its one that I will drag inside and see how bad off it is.
Hey brother by chance will you be willing to sell one … I’ve got 1973 st/16 that I’m working on and the only thing missing is the upper grill and head light and the hood needing one bad

Good luck finding a decent upper nose, most are busted up pretty badly. The ones in good shape go for crazy money.

Where are you located? I know of some sources that may ship you what you needed, area depending.
