Shredded the belt on the MTD Snowblower

Just as I was finishing blowing the 10" of semi wet snow that we had last week, the blower went quiet. I looked underneath and could see the auger drive belt was shredded. Got the part number from the parts manual and ordered a pair on Ebay. They arrived yesterday so I cut the old belt off to make a comparison. They appear to be the same length so now I need to pull the blower off to get the new belt installed.

When you said you cut the old off told me right there the new one won't be quick and easy to put on..

Its a lot easier to replace it off the machine and it only takes a few minutes to remove the blower. Then you can stand it on end for easy access to everything. The tractor is parked on the wet driveway right now so it was way easier to cut the old belt.
