Strange picture

I ran across this picture on Facebook, with no explanation except something about digging up fossilized "Cats". No offense Cat!

Anyone know what happened here?

I'd say they got caught in a quarry face collapse and were buried. Hopefully no one was inside when it happened.

Looks like they remained buried for years, we can hope they weren't occupied at the time of burial!

Maybe a mudslide? Wonder where the picture was taken, might be able to find a clue.

One looks like a rock truck, ??? The one with the number maybe a excavator ??? I'm only guessing ! And hopefully nobody in those machines, when they got covered !!!

Both look like Cat 700 series quarry trucks, so thats a good bit of debris around them.

High wall fell in or a mud slide.

My neighbor at my last house almost lost his life in a high wall fall in at a coal strip mine several years ago. He was trapped for a couple hours. Luckily they kept rescuers in the cabs so he could breathe
