Todays practice a step in the right direction

Here are some more small tractor plows with feering poles. This should help others to know how it is done.

Hi Noel The rule is you leave no soil unturned .You throw it out it is judged ,then you throw it back in again this is called the feering in Scotland then you are judged again
So, if you badly do a feer, to fix it is it called a refeer? Is this how the English word 'refer' came to be? I began a rabbit trail following the word(s) thru the dictionary.

Looks good.

I was at a plow day today in Nova Scotia. Not a plow match. Just a fun day. I didn’t take my tractor, but a buddy of mine let me use his tractor for a few rounds.

Noel

When the feering work is done, do you let it sit like this till Spring? or do you wait a little while and then run the disc harrow gang over it?

Normally we have to thank the local farmers allowing us to take part in competitions then it is usually ploughed again by their ploughs ready for winter barley or wheat.I am lucky my friend is a farmer and this year he is allowing me to practice for any local matches20221030_104921.jpg
