Yesterday, our local Club the French Creek Valley Antique equipment Club, went on a tractor tour.
9 miles from Ron hershman's House to McCullough's Ice Cream and 10 Miles back (yes, different route).
About 1:15 each way through the wooded scenery around Utica PA
Kaylen drove my 81 and I pulled one out of a 15 yr slumber.
We have a MH22 on 34" rubber (option). It had corroded points that were way out of adjustment (remember this for later), bad plug, bad valve stems on filled tires, gummy carb, and a stuck valve on number 4.
Got it running, but not happily. Its 65 and tired... hey, maybe it's better now... adjust carb, put more cleaner thru it... Decided to try it and see.
First half hour was pretty flat, bit.then we hit.aome steeper backroad inclines... It started to lose power on the hills and get hot. Nursed it along to the ice cream place, but I decided to leave it at the halfway point and get it later. KK said her butt needed a break, so (after ice cream) she rode the people wagon and I drove the 81 back.
We all had dinner and then I went to get the 22. Turns out the points should've been my clue. They we're so out of whack, that someone adjust timing to compensate. SMH
Adjusted it about 10 degrees closer to tdc (figure it was @ 25 or 30) and fired it up.
Ran MUCH better and could climb hills in 4th.
Ok, enough yattering, picture time
