What do you use to glue magnets.

Got the other two that were still stuck on off. Used a piece of hardwood with a 30 degree or so cut on one end and flat on the other. Put the 30 degree cut end on top of the magnet as close to the flywheel as I could. Then lightly tapped the block of wood with hammer. One came off with only a few taps. Other one took quite a few more. But did it.
Got all magnets glued back on. Found enough things to clamp magnets on. Those little C clamps are expensive. So I didn’t get any.
Will see what happens tomorrow. They all could fall off. Hehe. Ya, and I did clean and sand flywheel and magnets.

I used JB weld and a bunch of c clamps on my Tecumseh OH160. When they came off, you could see the factory just used 2 sided tape to keep them on. If that worked for 40+ yrs, pretty sure a thin layer of JB weld would work. They stick to the flywheel themselves anyway, you are just keeping them from moving around.

Well if it lasts 40 years or so before it they fall off again, I won’t be around to fix it. My son will be well over 70 and may not be around. So maybe one of the grandsons will fix it. They’ll be in their 40’s. Hehe.

So did you notice a problem or is this another engine your just getting in shape to be used if you need a spare

Gary this engine is one for the LGT 165 Ford my son has for blowing snow, the other engine that was in it blew up about a month ago. This one I’m fixing is a k321 14 hp, the one that was in the tractor, that blew up, is a k301 12 hp. The tractor really should have a k341 16 hp to be correct.

So I stuck the flywheel on just to see if I fixed the original trouble of ignition timing and now it’s exact. As soon as the points open, continuity goes away and the flywheel spark line meets with the bearing cover timing line. And when you check the point setting it’s right on the 0.020 opening.
So magnets are fixed, timing is fixed, just have to fix governor spring and arm. And mount and torque the flywheel nut.
