Saw this parked beside a building next to a used vehicle and trailer sales place about a month ago. Should have got pictures then but it was raining. At that time it had the radiator attached. Could not find any numbers readable. There was a oval tin plate attached to the right side of the transmission but nothing was readable on it. I know what make it is as at that was in raised letter across the top of the rusted out radiator. Have no other information on it but might stop by the presumed owners body shop and see what he knows. Any of you old tractor guys chime in with your ideas.

Massey Harris GP, one of the first models they made after coming out with the Parret model tractor they bought. Kind of a rare one, but not as rare as the six cylinder version. If I remember right it came out in the thirties. You could probably find out more at TractorData.com.
 
Tractor Data don't go back that far. They list Massey Ferguson but not MH. Your right on the make and model, and in the ball park on year. Info I found was 1930, GP or All Purpose 4 wheel drive.
 
Massey's first completely self designed Tractor. Released just in time for the great depression. Almost did them in.

Four-wheel drive, advanced engineering, way ahead of its time.

There are stories of dealers taking teams of horses in on trade just to continue to "sell" them. Tough time for the dealers , farmers, and the country as a whole
 
i posted a pic of a similar running unit from our annual ploughing match couple years ago that is located in my area. I think Chieffan should bring it home, keep him busy for the next few weeks
 
Thanks Noel, I did not find that in Tractor Data. The presumed owner runs a very successful restoration and body shop. Specializes in the older Comaro's. He has built 2 rotary jigs, one to hold the bare frame and the other to hold the body. Clamp them in and can rotate them 360°. Has 4 or 5 guys working for him, is out in the country and lives in a camper next to his business. I would bet money that he has the radiator and is either rebuilding it himself or having it done. One day I expect to see that sitting under the 40' flag pole on a mound out front of the shop.
 
I would say that tractor would pull pretty good. Hp is normal for that time, but I bet the torque would be good. Stoke is 4.5 “. That would put the power to the ground I would say. 3900 hundred pounds pushing the wheels into the ground and four wheel drive. 6 foot turning radius not bad for what it is.
Just my thoughts. I’m sure you have yours.

That tractor would out work any compact made today when it comes to plowing and tillage work compact will beat it a mowing raking etc but its really trying to compare apples to oranges
