the second chapter in the "revisited" topics.
I will combine the wheelhorses into 1 topic.
starting with the oldest, a pair of 1961s, the 551 and the 701 suburban.
the 551 was an older resto from the 90s, I buffed out the paint, repainted the rims and seat, added a sticker kit and that's as far as I ever got with it. maybe this year I will get it running, it's all there. powered by the lauson engine, it's a neat machine, aka the nut roaster
the second is the 701, I love look of this one, all original, scuffed waxed and oiled finish, the rims I painted, it was missing the original square seat, I added a round style to try to match the patina finish. basically just went over the mechanical end. it runs and drives great. I have the original deck too for it, I don't use it, if and when someday I will put it back on for show use.
next time will do the 854s, and the commando 6
