Might make a play on this tractor. Wasnt sure if it would have a solid state or points. Guy probably doesn't have a clue. Carbonator....

Tecumseh changed from points magneto to SSI sometime about 1967/68 I have several Suburbans with starter/gen and SSI. That is a very nice looking tractor I don't think it would have weak spark with SSI they either worked or were dead at least that's been my experience with them

That's a real clean tractor! Should be an easy fix, Aaron! How can you lowball when there is no price listed?

Very true. I hate ads like this. Just price it and we can go from there....

I offered 250. But with unknown spark problems and not knowing if it's solid state or not. That was a problem on the other sears. I never would have got that running without your donor flywheel. Some of these tecumseh parts are getting hard to find.

Looking thru some old Tecumseh manuals I have there was one (SSI) available for the smaller framed motors. Different than what the HH100/120's used .
Not real common from what I seen. I honestly never seen one.

I wouldn't think a $250 offer is out of line since it is a non-runner..
I'm sure glad that engine I had to replace had parts that helped you Aaron! I hated to part out an HH120, but it needed bored and with no pistons out there, didn't have much choice. In my case it was Predator to the rescue like you are thinking could happen for this tractor. No regrets now, coming on 6 years later.

I looked at mine. I am getting forgetful with what I have in storage, it's a 68 suburban 12 with a hh120 solid state with s/g. When I got it the dude that gave it to me thought the engine was seized but turned out was s/g is seized. I pulled the engine and wiring out. Planning on the predator swap at some point. Life seems to be changing I think alot of my tractors are going up for sale shortly

No response yet.

My dad and I have discussed liquidating our collection. We sold 3 a couple years ago. We have I think 9 cubs 2 John deere and the MF7.

MF7 1 cub and 1 John deere would stay. He is the one on the fence. I'm ready to list them up!
