And more junk.

Maybe the 23rd, Chris. It would actually be the 25th before we could pick it up. 23rd is a Wednesday and Loree is at work as well as Thursday. That is providing no one else offers more than I did on it during that time.

I should have put on a respirator cutting those teeth but never even thought about it until you mentioned it here! I put my welding helmet on with the lens set on grind, but that was it. Didn't have the smell stuck in my sinuses when I went in the house so maybe I didn't inhale it too bad. Really should have with my lung issues.

Didn't do anything outside and didn't even bring in the '55 to put the tire back on it today. Been raining all day and still is.

I did one rainy day project. Got my 3 banks I put quarters in out and emptied and counted them. I have a friend that trades greenbacks for quarters. He gives quarters to his grandkids for doing little chores around his place when they visit.

The "Titanic" bank had $61.25. It was packed full.

Next was the GMC panel bank.
View attachment 96403

It was packed so full nothing would come out of the lock door hole.
View attachment 96401

Had to take it apart! It had $41.25 in it.

Then this fake Chili can. It was only half full or so. It had $31.25 in it.

There is still a bank in the house but it's pretty small.

Yeah there is one 50 cent piece that came out of the GMC bank too.

Not a very productive day at all unfortunately.

Can't wait to see when you open your vault....
Then the money is really going to start to roll out ...! ;)

I have a large jar full of change. Wonder how much is in it. Has everything from pennies to quarters and some Canadian.
You have to count it some day, CJet! I know the banks have machines to dump assorted change into and it will convert it to cash or deposit. Problem is it rejects Canadian coins.

My Mom gave us this 20" tall glass Coke bottle for our wedding in 1978. It was completely full of just pennies. Held over a hundred bucks in pennies---LOL! Heavy as heck full. Now I put anything but quarters in it. I think my wife put quarters in it several times though. Didn't dump it to look. Problem is I use less cash nowadays so they don't fill up as fast.

We don't have pennies any more, just nickels, dimes, quarters , Loonies and Toonies. I've been putting all coins I get in change in my pocket and jarring/rolling them up when I get home. That way I may always be breaking a paper bill when I'm shopping but it's amazing how those coins add up and that is what I use for my Christmas gifting, Birthday presents, etc. I never seem to miss the day to day change at the time and the lump sum is very welcome at holiday time.

I have a pound coffee can I put all my change in except quarters. Quarters are put in a small bank bag in the truck for wash jobs. Carolyn does the same with her van.
Wow, Rog, I haven't seen a quarter car wash for 15 years at least! $5 car washes nowadays, here, a dollar a minute. If a person wants to brush the vehicle, there is no way to do that in 5 minutes.

I'm afraid we don't use cash very much anymore. My monthly welfare checks get direct deposited as well as Loree's paychecks and we use a Sam's club card that we get cash back on. $7-800 a year we earn. That is generally our Christmas money. We pay it off monthly so there is never an interest charge.

I have a bunch of random containers with coins. Maybe I should cash them in. Or let the kids cash one in for some spending cash….i have a container at work in the break room. I told them to put change in it and we will match it and have a big lunch event at the end of the summer.
If your kids are earning the reward, by all means give them a container as a reward for good grades, chores done or whatever. Sounds like a great idea having a lunch BBQ or picnic for your employees!

Gotta have those too!
Did another unproductive day today, Chris---LOL!

My sister in law and her husband have a cabin at Angostura Reservoir about 60 miles south. BIL wasn't there. He had one of his cars in a car show somewhere. Their daughter and son took vacations from their jobs and came down. My wife and both kids are down there as well as the third sister with her grandson. I made a day trip down there to just sit on the beach and do nothing.

The cabin. It has a bunkroom but I just can't sleep in it so I come down for the day. Will do it a time or two during the week also.

The southern end of the lake. We were seeing good sized fish jumping out of the water. Walleye and huge catfish and some northerns in this lake.

Their boat and the shelter on the beach. Water is low due not much s-word last winter and summer irrigation.

Niece took this picture yesterday. Would have really been cool if she would have got a pic of the eagle catching the fish!

Got home about 7:30. The grass looks like it's spring instead of mid July! All the rain recently!

The big old void dividing the front yard that I have been attempting to get some grass seed down on is quite visible---LOL!

Those beach chairs are the worst thin in the world to try to get out of. I have a real nice one in a bag that has been used one time. Had to fall over on the side and crawl to the arm of another chair to get back on my feet again.
Yes, they suck Rog! My wife gave me an expensive one for fathers day that I can get out of. It has solid arms. I forgot to take it with me! Those old school tall aluminum folding ones are much better!

I see that camp gets air mail!
Yeah but they don't seem to get much mail---LOL! This is flyover country you know, Daniel!

Looks like a very nice place to get away from it all for a day. Don’t think I could sleep very well in a bunk room either.

John
It is a nice place, John. I tried sleeping in there a couple of times and decided they don't need to see my moods when I don't sleep anymore. It's worth driving back home.

Did the dirtwork to get ready for spreading grass seed today. It's not a "Better Homes and Gardens" approved job but I think it will be good enough for me. Very hard to level with a yard that is already wavey and bumpy. MF 1450 and the mobility scooter with the yard trailer got put to work in the 94F temps.
Pulled the freshly modified scarifier back and forth until it looked like the ground was opened up. More rocks to pick up of course. Threw them on the I-beam since I forgot to get the bucket.
IMG_2941.jpg

Went to the shop and removed the scarifier.
IMG_2942.jpg

IMG_2943.jpg

Made several passes with just the drag to smooth things out some more and "feather" the edges. Good as it's gonna get!
IMG_2944.jpg

IMG_2945.jpg

Put the 1450 in the shop with plans on doing a service on it. Forgot I have to drop the lift to get the grass seed and straw off it. Will run it back out tomorrow after a doc appointment then see what I need to do next.

Hooked up the trailer and went to the back yard to get some dirt for a couple low spots. One by the water service pit and the other right near the house.
IMG_2946.jpg

IMG_2947.jpg

Did some hand rake work on that dirt and called it a day. Unhooked the trailer and parked the scooter.

I mowed for 1½ hours with the 1862. Put it back in the machine shed. Filled the sprayer and started spraying weeds/grass along the edge of buildings, scrap pile, garden shed, couple thistle patches, etc. It was up into the upper 80's and not breeze down where I was at so called it a day. It was time too and almost not soon enough. Since I got over heated several years ago I cannot take much heat, especially if there is not breeze. Kind of like an air cooled engine, got to have that air flowing around me.

It gets a little harder for me in the heat every year too it seems like Rog. I agree, I'm like an air cooled engine too!

We had business in town today so no shop time except for scanning and printing stuff. There was a hard rain around 2:30 that really left things feeling downright awful outside. Super high humidity and hot, even with cloud cover. Didn't want to be out in that anyway.

This ought to be mandatory knowledge on every written drivers license exam! Know it or walk!
All my life when we dairy farmed, we hardly ever had good profitable years, maybe one or two out of every 10 years. So unfortunately we had to survive on credit. Mostly used the cards when a major house appliance died. Back then those card companies made lots of interest off us, and I have a few plastics still today. Some year's end I could pay off the cards with tobacco sales money, then after the tobacco markets were destroyed we didn't have year end cash.
But after just one year working for my local Southern States I saved enough to pay off the remaining 8 grand+, and the ONLY money they make off me since then is the rare time I forget to make my payment un full on time. Out of debt and never plan to owe anything till I pass on!
