MF 1450

Hey Doug my thinking is carb needs fine tuning, even thought it run nice at idle it sounds to me to be a bit lean and not wanting to transition tfrom idle circuit to main fuel I would try a 1/8th of a turn out on the idle jet (CCW) and see if it idles up smooth if better but not quite right give it another 1/8th of a turn then go on to the main jet as needed

Tried to rev it up and it would buck and die trying to go much faster than idle.
I saw a thread on Weekend Freedom Machines that sound like a similar issue with his K321. Problem is he hasn't found the problem yet either. Might check in every now and then to see if he finds something.

Another one where they found a bad condenser.

I put this in Google search "Kohler K321 idles but won't throttle up" and it looks like a lot of people have this same problem. I don't recall for sure but the K321 in my JD 214 had an issue and it turned out to be the coil. Can't remember if it was just dead or would idle and not throttle up.o_O

Pretty sure the 660 once subjected to air, it only cures in the absence of air.
Yep, Henkel Adhesives (owner of Loctite) says it is an anaerobic setting, only sets once air is excluded. Their salesman can go on for hours about the different types of adhesives!
That's the theory behind many loctite type materials, they "dry" without air. We use 242, 571, 515, and 680 at work everyday.
Oh and I found out I'm allergic to green and red, my fingers will itch after 30 mins or so if I get it on them. It also tastes sweet like old green antifreeze (I'm a nail biter )
DUH! I should have known it is anaerobic! Feeble mind strikes again.

Marty, I quit chewing my fingernails when I went to work at a $h!t plant---LOL!

I will go through the fuel system and make sure everything is clean. I couldn't get any improvements adjusting the carb.

Some interesting reading, CJet. Might end up buying points and a condenser too.

Thanks for the comments guys! Really means a lot to me!

Worked on the slot cars today and had some in house chores and phone calls to do also, so no tractor work.

Three rules of plumbing, 1 payday is Friday, 2 shit flows downhill, 3 don't bite your fingernails!

My Onan sounds similar, I can get it to start and idle, but it hasq a bad miss and wont throttle up. I bought a coil from something else, going to see if I can get the conversion to work since twin onan coils are ridiculous $$$$$

Last time I had a Kohler do that, it was a bad condenser. But bad coils do act about the same.

Used 2 different used condensers but no change, and one used coil. Maybe I better buy a coil along with points and condenser.

All of the forums I looked on where people had the same type of problem never seemed to come up with one definitive answer as to the cause. It seems the same symptoms are caused by several different problems. Hope you get it figured out.

Hopefully will mess around with it a little more soon. Will check the fuel system more first.

Ever think to add (at least temporary) a electric fuel pump. Something with a 1-3 psi rating ?
Maybe wouldn't make a difference... don't know
