I had this given to me this morning. Started taking it apart before pics, sorry. Anywho, it's in need of some love like a better tub.

Everything else is in good shape including the tires. The latch parts are there, just no pics. I have options for the tub. #1 is what I believe is a Radio wheelbarrow with the square nose. Has some cracks in the front though.

Next is an old wheelbarrow I have had for years that is no longer used.

Which would be a good replacement in your opinions?

I would wire brush the heck out of it to clean it up and put a coat of fiberglass over it. Will stop the rust as long as you will have use for it. I did that with a short handled square nose shovel just to get it to clean up easier after use.

Interested in seeing the welded holes. That tin is about the same thickness I an dealing with.
I welded the hood for Alice, might have been a tad thicker! Main thing is the right size wire, temperature setting, and many tack welds to keep from burning through. And I like using the argon mix. None of that flux core!!!!

Unless you are wheeling cement I'd go with the smallest one. Patch weld holes and wet sand/paint so its ready for the show and shine. I had to make new handles for my wheel barrow. Sourced hardwood from a pallet. Pneumatic tires still boss if you wheeling on soft ground.
Years ago I did cement work and had to wheel cement to do basement floors. We did a whole subdivision in Port Elgin On this method. I never tipped a wheel barrow doing that but boss told me "if it starts to go let go, you'll get your ribs broken by the handles when wheel barrow reaches that tipping point of no return"

It matters what you want to haul. If it is leafs you don"t have one big enough. I would use the biggest I had unless I was restricted by gates or doors that i needed to pass through. Don
I'm going to use the big one! All three will need something to get them on there, may as well use the biggest. Now to find some 'Radio' decals.

What is 'inner shield wire'?

I apologize. Its an outer shield wire.

It's a flux core wire made to run with argon. It's amazing. I'm no welder as I've said before. I had a guy who is a welder come in and tell me what to run in our machines and this is what he recommended

Too expensive for me! 10 lb. spool is as big as I can use anyway.

so you're running gas with flux core? Can't say I heard that before.. Interesting.

Yes. It works great on dirty metal. It's called dual shielding.

I highly recommend it. The machinery we frequently repair has been laying in a coal mine for decades. The metal isnt nice anymore.

We run solid wire with gas as well but only on clean new metal.

I think we pay 2.25 lb. At work for that wire. I'll ask the sales guy if he can get me a 5lb spool. If he can I'll shove it in a flat rate box and send it to you.
