I had a discussion with Daneil a few years back about a MF Super 90 that I ran for a neighbor that I worked for back when I was in high school. Daniel has one that I got to see at one of my visits to his place and I thought they didn't look the same. I finally figured it out I believe. Daniel's is a Super 90 Wheatland model.download (1).jpeg
The one I ran was a Super 90 rowcrop with wide front end.

See the difference between the hood line and the top of the fenders.

Anyway, I think this is the difference between the one I ran and Daniel's. I sure loved running that 90, it was sure a smooth running tractor that you could run all day and not be dead when you got off it.

I'm pretty sure the 90's were built for MF by someone else.
Oliver? I will look at the book & see if it says

Whoops, sorry.
That was the 98 and 99 model tractors.
So much for memory. At least I got Oliver right.

Those 90s were massive in their day.
Daniel, does your wheatland have 3 point?

That's right Alan, the MF plant had fire and they needed something to fill that market. MF contracted Oliver to use the Oliver Super 99 and also the next model 990 with the GM Detroit Diesel engine painted and badged as a MF. BTW, it the only time MF had a tractor with a Detroit in it.

Dad and grandpa used to have a pair of super 90 tractors here, one with a loader and one without.

I remember hearing that one needed to be tow started all the time because the starter was pooched

Edit: talked to dad, one was a super 90 "WR" with a straight 3 speed and 2 speed rear end, with a "secret gear" as dad said. Pull shifter up, far to the right and down, you got a 4th gear, wide ratio he called it. Said it'd hit 20 mph which was FAST back in the day.
