Sears Engine (Happy Birthday to Me)

I once knew a gentleman who used to say there was no sense keeping everything, because hearses don't have luggage racks. I'd bet they don't have trailer hitches or ATMs either so I decided to treat myself to a birthday present. I found this at a tractor show I was at over the weekend and it had...

That one has the same final drive, but a completely different transmission setup? Is that engine RPM into the transmission and then worm gear reduction to the final drive? Holy convoluted Awesome find.

    Little Giant Tractor?

These are wooden forms for sand casting various parts of the Speedex and LG tractors. They were found in his Grandmother's attic along with flyers, etc. when she passed. Apparently, his grandpa passed in 1946, but had been building the LG tractors and also this Speedex model in his barn. As the...

    Got'er done!!

On the Sears good, there is a pin on the (driver perspective) right hand side that hits the back of the grill. It's about 2-3" away from the hinge bolt Sometimes, if the hood is a little tweaked, the pin will miss the grill. I believe they were spot welded on, so I suppose it could be missing?

    Which One Should I Buy?

The motos had weak axels. NLA The Speedex are beasts, but clunky The MF is the nicest and has a vari drive, so it'll sotf, but the belts are an odd pitch and parts are getting harder to find. This said, it'd be the one I bought because I'm sentimental and Dad had one The Sears and the Cub are...
