    A Springfield Collector

I am still around but not frequenting forums much these days. I still like a Springfields so not ready to sell the collection. Oddly enough though, I just sold three Springfields last weekend, and the new owner has one of them apart to rebuild the engine already. It was a more uncommon model...

Brinly three point cultivator goes disc harrow

Ya Alan, stowaway was found. So this implement story now has an interesting twist to it. After using more of Alan's gasoline the carb on the Power king has fouled over (I knew better than to touch that gas can of his lol). With carb issues on the power king I knew I had to fix the problem...

Brinly three point cultivator goes disc harrow

Disc harrow was tested for the first time this weekend at plow day. It worked so great I took weight off the disc so i could steer while the disc was raised lol.

Plow Day N.W. PA Plow Day

I enjoyed plow day this year. I did plow a few passes, not as much as normally would, but also gooey. On the pass the depth wheel broke off (at the weld of rim to hub, thanks China), I was mostly done plowing and ready to try my disc out. Disc worked great by the way, including my quick...

    I hate roll pins

If you ever disassemble the band brakes on a Power King they have a solid tapered pin and only pounds out in one direction. Lucky me picked the right durection and ir was still a fight cause i was not the first to work on that pin. I replaced it with a roll pin when I was done. Decided the...

Brinly three point cultivator goes disc harrow

Yes to hydraulic lift on my Power King.

Brinly three point cultivator goes disc harrow

The center link on the disc only adjusts the cut angle and the current total angle is around 25 degrees right now (12.5 degrees per side). I would have matched a similar disc... except I dont have another one to compare lol. I know the steeper the angle the harder it will pull so I deceded...

Brinly three point cultivator goes disc harrow

By the way, should I add wing weight posts or not?

Brinly three point cultivator goes disc harrow

Update for this implement is that I finally made the final two angle irons and installed them. I procrastinated this because I was uncertain what length, how the ends needed to be shaped, and how the geometry worked out for bolt holes. I finally commited to something and went with it. I...

What did you do with your tractor today?

I used my buddy's Satoh Buck to move trailers out of his back yard and into his front yard.

Brinly three point cultivator goes disc harrow

I'm building it to use behind tractors roughly 48" overall width and it covers the tires at around 54". I have adjusted and measured the discs enough times that I lost track of the exact width right now.

Brinly 10 plow goes 3 point

On the back of the seat is a participation magnet from my local tractor show last summer. I think you have one too. :)

Brinly three point cultivator goes disc harrow

As some of you know, I have no disc harrows for anything bigger than my Springfield tractors. This year I am changing that. These parts wrre accumulated over the last few years in order to correct this, but not in the same way. I used to play with sleeve hitch tractors, but now most of my...

Brinly 10 plow goes 3 point

After plowing the first time this year and having too much flex between the A frame and 10" sleeve hitch plow with the sleeve hitch adapter, I fixed it. I took Kenny's method and tweaked it so that I could get it done in time. I cut the sleeve hitch piece off and welded a new plate on it with...

    1947 Farmall Cub

Ya, I absolutely fell in love with the belly disc plow. At the plow day events some people hate to follow me because of the bowl furrow it makes, some because I dig deep with it. There are others that enjoy following my furrows because I actually leave a decent furrow. On another note, being...

What are you currently working on??

Friday I worked on two machines. I took the tie rod off the Power King 1614 to rebuild and shorten to get the alignment correct. Then I took the hyraulic return line off the ampib (LTV KID 8x8) to find the source of a slow oil leak. The source was found, the one end of the return line was...

    1947 Farmall Cub

Very nice Farmall Cub haul. You will fall in love with the belly disc plow, as have I. I leave the disc plow on my cub year round, even when I put the front snow blade on, as there is zero interference, and all you have to do is hang the plow off the torque tube with a chain holding bracket...
