just acquired this ‘41, just to give me a reason to get out of the house during the winter. The cab in garage i got locally. Cool recovery rollers to winch it on deck . He could steer the cab by adjusting location of winch cable.
Went to Iowa on the weekend to pick parts..too stinking hot for my liking, seller told me 110 while i was busting bolts with hammer and chisel.
I have to go back to Otley Iowa to get more parts cuz i erred in judgement…

Got back yesterday from a second picking trip to Pella Iowa to fetch parts I thought were with the other body I have in garage.
Guess I had a senior moment but had to do it
Got all the glass, dash was the big ticket item for the 1200 mile trip

Not much left of Otley. Don't think the PO is there anymore. I am about 50 miles due West of Pella, just North of hwy. 92.
After i picked at the car it got sent to Dougs4wheelers in Pella..when i told them the situation that i had not gotten enough parts the car was set aside as id paid for the whole car..went down and got the rest of what i needed..
It was so friggin hot a few weeks ago took me 7 hours to do 2 hours work…had to stop every 15 minutes for half hour break to recharge from the heat….grabbed the front clip and doors and went home..
It was only when i got home i picked up the other cab just how many parts were wrong and missing that i decided had to make the second 1200 mile trip to Iowa….temps were much more to my liking last week.

Massive lineup of vintage vehicles at the entrance to this place..

Looks like a fun project
Those yellow things on frame are WreckerRollers, there is one under each corner and on soft ground. 6500 lb rating each . Never seen them before but with one under each corner the body was steered out of bush and up on to deck by operator adjusting position of cable on his deck. Pretty slick

As often as i hauled in and out of Iowa i had never heard of the Red Rock reservoir..i thought it was a crater when i crossed the bridge…very impressive reservoir,,i stayed in Knoxville for a night on last parts run. Motel manager filled me in all about the reservoir…I had been in Davenport in the early 90’s during a flood,,,was unloading newsprint at dock with water only a foot below my trailers floor.

Im not yet organized or ready to start project but…the front clip found its way into garage while moving parts around and i decided to knock some dents out and remove what appeared to be Bondo on fender….was a very old lead repair
