45” 3 Point Hitch Aerator Build for the Massey 1655

Started a aerator to use next summer behind the Massey 1655. Schedule 120 pipe filled with concrete with 4 inch long 5/8 diameter spikes.

Really nice build but I'll suggest some hyd gauge wheels so you can lift it to make sharp turns, otherwise I think the spikes on the inside of the turn will really tear up some sod.

For sure Mike I agree , it's going on my 3 point hitch so I'll be raising it when turning (I edited the title to include 3 point hitch)

What do you have the center filled with ?I
looks good. Think you're going to need some weight on it too ?

Filled with concrete, it's heavy walled pipe as well so shouldn't need extra weight but I'm making the frame over the top so weight can be added.

I will suggest if it doesn't seem to work well, cut all the spikes off and mount them in a spiral pattern.

That is some serious weight going into it!

Works good....tried it on semi-frozen ground lol....Probably put some 1/8” plate (oil tank) on the top for extra weight if needed but I doubt it’ll need it. Still needs a second coat.

Put it in storage till spring time, going to make a 4' square platform with casters to put some attachments for storage...forks on the bottom, aerator on the top hopefully back blade soon etc. etc. lol

Be careful my friend. I've been to the island many times and I can tell you it's not very thick.
