anyone buy welding gas lately????

Looks like the next time I'm out your way camping I need to bring my tanks with. Along with the mandatory trip to Glen's surplus that is also part of that camping trip every year.
(I was at Doug Ts place either 2 or 3 years ago, he was getting ready for a national tractor meet that was here in Illinois the following weekend) he has lots of interesting machines no longer seen
 
I just saw an article this morning that CO2 is in short supply. Turns out much of the CO2 production is a result of making ethanol to ruin our gasoline. So with gasoline use down there is less ethanol produced etc....
 
Time to go back to the carbon arc torches and flux core wire. Mostly use my Oxy-Ace torch for welding or brazing so the tanks last a long time. Prices on these refills has gone through the roof.

I fire mine up to heat more than cut...

I run a dual shield wire on my mig. Flux wire with gas. Works great on dirty rusty metal.
