Ballast

Gotta drag gravel out to get to the welds. Wish now I hadn't put the gravel in there, but won't be that hard.
I can make it as heavy as I want as it'll be easy to hook to with my quick attach. Just back up to it, lift, then lock!
 
I think Kenny's chart is accurate for the rail you guys are using and finding. Majority of that was all sectional rail in 15 - 22' lengths. Most of the rail made today is "ribbon rail" in lengths up to 115' and 110 to 140 lb/yd. Heavier rail is for the heavy loads and high speed passenger and Z trains. The chart is pre 1995 as it mentioned the Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad. That line merged with the Sante Fe in 1995 to become the BNSF Rail Way we have today.
