Barn Find J.D. 110

We had to leave by 4:30. At 4:25 the mail finally came with my carb. We got back home about 7:30. By 7:45 it was running!
Still need to find or make an air filter housing. Drove it around and tested all the gears and the vari-drive. Everything works.
After it was well warmed up I set the high and low circuits as best I could.
I'll be playing with it some more before deciding how much cosmetics to do on it.

I planned on having this running last Saturday. Delivery was supposed to have been no later than Saturday. When I checked the USPS tracking , it sat in an Amazon warehouse 91 miles away since Friday. I was hoping to get it going today.
The mail usually comes between noon and 1 P.M. It is pushing 4:00 and still not here. Of course the one day I'm waiting is the day they run late.
And now I need to get going.
Since today is Trail95's birthday, he, our younger brother , I and our spouses are going out to eat tonight. So I'm shooting for tomorrow to be driving this little J.D. around.
My carb won't be here until Saturday, now Rick, but I haven't ordered a new head gasket yet either. Got plenty to do before even attempting to start my green pile. Glad you got it running! How does it drive?

This tractor came to me without an air breather assembly. The guy at the local mower shop didn't have anything close, but he did give me an old oil bath breather assembly. No way it would fit but I had an idea to use the top over. After cutting off the basket and steel wool innards, I put it in the lathe and removed the rest of the basket from the underside. In my box of Elec-Trak parts was a bad mower deck electric motor. The top cover of it was the perfect size for my air filter. The mower shop did set me up with gaskets. Using the gasket as a templet I drilled out the necessary holes for mounting to the intake flange and a center post to hold the top on. After some judicious use of a wire brush the parts were cleaned, primered and top coated. I put my rattle can shaker to work. Just waiting for the paint to dry.

Went to the shop this morning and had to finish the air breather assembly. I had to bend a 1/4"-20 threaded rod to center the top cover. Then installed it.Put a paper towel in the hole before I dropped one of those little screws or washers into it. Had good clearance to the grill.
I'll be finding a pre-cleaner for it. Looked pretty good sitting in there!
