A friend of mine made a blade for his atv out of a piece from a water heater. I was thinking that a Craftsman snow thrower I had might be able to be gutted and the housing converted into a bucket for a loader. Good thing I didn't tear into it as I traded it for a trailer. Oh was going to use the cutting edge off a 4' blade for the edge on the bucket. That was part of the trade too.
