Forks for my T5c

I acquired this machine last fall, and I have enjoyed it very much! Most of the time, I use it to pick things up. I welded a 2” receiver on the bucket; I also made an adapter so I can mount the boom from my engine hoist to the bucket. The boom works fantastic, and I used it to pick up a 7.3, even before I filled the rear tires with calcium. I’m not sure how much it is capable of lifting, although I don’t think think I’d want to go any heavier than that engine. More useful than the boom, would likely be pallet forks! I got my hands on a broken pallet jack, and started to convert it to pallet forks. I am almost finished, I have to finish the welding and shorten the forks by about a foot.

I am reluctant to say I am finished, but I’m finished for now. Once I got it all welded and saw how sturdy the forks are, I decided not to cut them yet; if they prove to be too long, I can cut them later. I also have to paint it, but want to see if they will be too long first.

Once I got them mounted I looked for something to pick up, I thought a snowmobile was a good test, and it worked great! If I did cut the forks, I would not have been able to pick it up. After I was done playing, I used it to unload some 3/8 steel plates I got today.

Really good fabricating!! Both ends of that will be really good helpers, especially with the new attachments!! Only improvement I see is a quiktach for all 3.

I have been loving these forks! I use them almost everyday. I haven’t had an issue with them being too long, so I will leave them. The only issue I am having is the mount for the front wheels. There is a hole for the pivot pin on the underside that catches on pallets when going in or out using the float function.

Good idea Ryan313. What else would you do with an old pallet jack..!

I use my set of rear forks all the time, just leave them on a tractor.

I use my pallet forks a few times a week and love them! Far as the hanging pin bracket on yours Ryan, maybe heat them cherry red and take a large shop hammer to them?

That’s a good idea, I haven’t really looked at it. Either that or just cut it out and put a plate there.
