Got this in today.

Ya Doug. I knew when I fixed it up two years ago that it would not last long. Bunch of parts. That’s good.
And yes a computer. I use it to check Tractor Fanatics and two other tractor sites, that you know, Plus look up repairs. And play old country music. Plus, the odd you tube video garden tractor plowing.

It's amazing that those spindles didn't pull right out of the deck with all that rust! Still some good parts there to save for your new deck. I'm not the only guy with the computer in the shop!

DAC

I have my laptop in the shop when ever I need information. All my manuals are on CD as well as on the main house computer. Makes it a lot nicer to see the diagrams and information on a 10" screen.

Hehe. Great to have a winch and a loader. No lifting or unloading for me.

Well. Knocked the rust off the bottom. Got the blades off. First coat of thin paint on the bottom. Next coat will be the same colour. I don’t think any body will be under the deck to see it the colour matches the tractor. Hehe.
The spindles or what ever you call them, where the blade bolts on, have grease nipples in them. That’s amazing.
Will be needing new blades, maybe, I guess. I’ll see what the blades on the other deck I’m replacing, are like before I buy new ones.

Noel
I just put a set on for a guy and the blades were similar to those ( same center) and they were worse than yours PLUS he had them upside down. I told him it was probably like mowing with a broom stick..!

Wow, talk about a deck being swiss cheese! I guess there's a good reason to blow the grass clippings off the deck when done mowing. My winch is a manual chain hoist and maybe someday I'll have a loader! There's an old 3,000 lb. 12V winch laying around here I should do something with someday.

Same deal with me on the computer pretty much except my old country music is on an ipod with a cassette adapter in a stereo with speakers in both rooms. Unfortunately I need 3 PC's set up out here in my shop. This is my internet one, and as far as I'm concerned Windows 10 is useless for anything else besides the internet. Then I have an antique one that still runs Windows 98! It does my sign design and vinyl cutting work. Then the old XP computer is where I do my photograph work. I just have a remote hard drive I can use on any of them. I also have an old laptop in the house but don't use it very often.

Let us know how it mows!

Got the tractor washed up, still have to service it yet.
Have to make two belt guides for the new used deck. Old one had them, new used one did not. Used deck has the holes for them to be put in. Holes for guides are beside the double pulley.
Used deck must of had a different manual pto. Old deck did not have the arm with brake shoe.
Could be different year decks too, I suppose.

Tapped the holes to clean up threads in deck for the belt guides. Reused one guide. And found a starter bolt and put it in. Didn't have to make any thing. Great to have old stuff around at times.
Oh, I had to paint the the guides, right. Jumpins I’m getting carried away with this. Not some thing I normally do is paint things.

So the refresh it done. Put drive belts on the tractor. Lubed all the pulleys, moving parts, transaxle, and front end. Battery is good. Deck is all fixed up, tires are good. Oil is good.
Took it out for a test drive and cut. Works perfect.
So sad to get dirt on it !!!!!!!! But oh well. Should be good for three years.
Any way. Hopefully you enjoyed my FUN.
