Had a little Snow so I got to try the 1620

Okay I tried mocking up various ideas that have been suggested I liked the idea of coming off the blade base plate but the front wheels and axle just woun't allow it to work out thought I had it worked out but then I truned the wheels to the left and no go so for now I locked the blade so it can not trip I'm going to see if placing the push/pull rod blade mount down to the same level as the trip hinge might work . Noel I like the hydro best previously I had looked up under the tractor but there is no easy way to install a second hydraulic control valve would require half dismantling the tractor, I even thought about installing another hydraulic pump up front and running it with the front PTO

Running a second pump off the front pto would be a neat idea. Open up a whole world of possibilities for front attachments.

The only tractor with hydraulics is the bolens. It has an aux lever for the front hydraulic hook up.

Hi all well I went along Noel's idea and it will work good got the lever fabricated and a couple of bolt holes drilled, had to plow some snow that was right in front of the shop doors so that took up some this morning I'm getting it down for the manual angling and it works good and its fast to angle, I'm not going to try the linear actuators but will be looking for a dual spool hyd valve as that would be handy for many other attachments.

Several years ago, I finally bought a front blade for my Craftsman GT 6000....... of course AFTER we had 2 feet of snow fall in the course of 6-8 hours or so. After that, every time mowing season would end, I would rearrange my 4 GTs in the shed so that the GT 6000 could sit right in front of the doors, blade on, chains on, ready for action. Went two years or so that we didn’t have much snow to speak of, so next Spring, off with the blade, and rearrange again to have the mowing GT nearest the doors.
Then......
One winter, we got 10” or so of snow at one time. Man, was I ready to go push some snow!!! Went out, cleared our driveway and sidewalk, neighbor’s drives and sidewalks, and even went up and down our street to make it better to drive on ( and I was having a blast!!!)

Wife said she looked out the front window from the comfort of her wood-fired heat, and kept looking until she saw me go zooming down the street in front of the house. She figured I had a smile on my face and would come in when either I got cold, or ran out of snow to move. And, she told me later..... all she could think of as she saw me go by the house was...., “There goes Forrest Gump!!”

Oh well.... I was having a great time!

Have a fun with yours!

I love the story. I find myself smiling as I read it, I relate. These machines can be very adicting or as my wife calls it, therapy!

OoPs! I forgot to point out I was referring to your GT6000 specifically, not the blade. :) I here positive experiences with this model.

No problem! I really like this GT6000. It is the hydro model and it has been good for me. Shortly after I got it back in 2010, I drained the hydro and installed a new filter..... probably the first preventive maintenance it had ever had. I need to fine-tune the carb.... it smells rich, but it is a good-running machine! It pulls the plough well, and I use it with an Agri-Fab cultivator..... one of my favorite implements. The only GT the I have that I like better for ploughing is our 1981 Speedex 1631, simply because is sits up higher due to the ag tires.... no problem with high-centering if you are digging a deep furrow. Although I don’t use the GT6000 for mowing, it does have a 44” deck. I need a deck belt and a tensioning spring to make it useable.

We got 2 inches of snow and normally I wouldnt do anything about it because in a day or 2 it would melt. But I decided to give the JD 110 a test run and plowed most everything I normally plow and then went up town and plowed the shop and store sidewalks to see if any of the sidewalk would be an issue with being uneven,All worked out fine.My wife was shaking her head when I came in and she says boys and their toys!!
