Spark plug gaps was closed I don't know how it happen but I regapped and it runs.

WOW, I had that happen on an older vehicle after changing plugs once on a V6. The 1, 3 & 5 all closed like that on one side. Not sure how it happened. fixed all 3. carefully checked all around and put them back in. Never happened again. Been puzzle by that event every time I go to change plugs in a vehicle.

It's something one would never expect. My only hint with the vehicle was reading the codes showing misfire in those cylinders.

With your FA Cub, that must of been a harder event to find.

Chance are all you need is rings and valves lapped. Those old IH blocks were tough. That's why there are several of them still running today.

I retest the compression with my better gauge the compression was 100-110-100-80. I put the old Champion D21 plugs back in and so far it starts back everytime.

I'm starting to think maybe they got damaged in shipping and I was in to big of a hurry to see it at the time

Been there done it. Truck would run right and of course it was the most difficult plug to access

It back to flooding out again. When I get moved I will put it in the new shop and go completely thru it. I miss this old tractor it use to be the most faithful running thing I owned.

Changed points got spark again but it not pulling fuel up so I think maybe some valves are stuck. I will pull the cover this weekend and find out

Valves are moving like they should now but now there is backfiring thru the carb. Static timing looks good it pointing to number 1 cylinder. Spark plugs was placed clockwise start at top 1 , 3 , 4 , 2 which is closest to engine block. I don’t know what I’m missing maybe it time to do a valve job on it

Did you check the adjustment? Maybe they are getting too close. Honda car engines are bad for that.

Several on the Facebook group said they had the same symptoms when their Mag failed they said they was still getting spark but not inside the cylinder

So I adjusted my points to the wrong specs I did it to 0.20 instead of 0.13 that needed for a magneto set. I don’t know if that will fix the issue but worth a try

Nope when from back firing thru the carb to back firing thru the exhaust. I did fix one issue I will make a whole new post on cause it might help someone
