My son got this car to fix up.

When I got my '55 running back in 2009, it didn't have brakes either but I couldn't wait! Fortunately, there's fields at work where I got it running at so there was plenty of time to slow down by downshifting. Stopping had to anticipate quite a ways from where I actually wanted to stop. I was able to get a little bit of brake working before drove it home a couple weeks later. Rebuilding the brakes was the first project when I got it home.

Keep the updates coming Noel, It's a cool car that would be a blast to cruise around in. Is that a flathead in it? I'm not real educated on Studebakers.

Yes Doug, flathead 6 cylinder, whopping 85 hp, standard three speed on the tree, as they say, with overdrive. Should be a good highway cruiser and be very good on fuel.

If brakes require more than a bleeding to get them working you may want to rebuild wheel cylinders. I’m not sure how difficult it is to source new parts
A studebaker club or even a Hemmings would be handy
