Sears suburban

I have a 71 Sears suburban 12. Its in rough "worked" shape but runs good and I was wondering should I restore or leave it alone. Does anyone else have a Sears they still run and work?

I have one, it’s my avatar. Runs and drives. I painted mine as it was ugly and half the hood was cut off

I have a Sears SS 12 I think it is. Needs engine work to be able to use it. Previous owner was pretty handy and had a good mind.

Used a GM converttable top Hydraulic pump to power a 3 point hitch on it be surprized how strong it is.

Used the cylinders of fI suppose the same convertible to raise and lower the arms.

I'm all for making things better. I've rebuilt two workers to be like new. My SS15 runs & works so well & being original I hate to loose that worn & reliable look. Maybe some day I'll rebuild it.

The pictures in my previous post are my Sears tractors In running and functioning condition. Nothing restored just maintain condition and make necessary repairs. They can be restored at any time but they cant be returned to original. Don

I like them , never relized the snow blowers huged the tractor so tight most have a lot more space between tractor and snow blower.

I have a half dozen Suburbans use 3 / 4 all the time the 67 S12 is my go to yard tractor and I have a couple of ST 16's one with Tec 16 hp one with a B&S opposed twin 18 hp and a SS16 with a B&S V twin 16 hp use them for mowing I like the way the Suburban decks mow

that's a different model blower unit than I have. It looks bigger as well.

Your blower unit is identical for sure. There is a huge pleasure in seeing snow flying out the chute, more so than mowing the lawn

My Sears st10 is super reliable. Only time it broke was when it lost spark for a couple years....I eventually found it.

Close as I've gotten is I have a cutting deck from a Suburban 12. It was going to scrap and I couldn't let that happen. It has crossed my mind to adapt it to the MF8E. For now it just lays in a shed.

I still have thorn blisters Months later. I was covered in those small brown thorns that you can only see with a magnifying glass.
