I've enjoyed my FF/20's!I have had great luck with my Craftsman stuff..... My 1994 GT6000 take a beating in the garden, and the 2009 PGT9000 has been a really great mowing machine, with a pass in the garden occasionally. Are they built like my 1966 Cub Cadet 123 or 1981 Speedex 1631? No....... but they have been good for what they are.

I have a suburban I need to restore,I have owned it for 2 years now and dont know a thing about it except its taking up space in my garage!Exactly what do you think that most crapsman mowers are once Roper went away? A few Murray's mixed in but mostly they ARE MTD machines. Lately Husqvarna which I would agree that anything would be more useful than that.
The suburbans and the FFs are in a league of their own. From the "good OLD days" of Sears.
NO SIR it is not! After dropping it on my fingures for the fifth or sixth time I was considering Junking out a real nice john Deere 210 for parts! So reedb66... isnt that JD variator fun to work on...LOL
"Should I trade tractors??"
I wish you people who get on here and ask "what should I buy?", "How should I trade?" would understands that you are giving us permission to spend your money anyway we see fit.
