Do potatoes get a disease when you grow them in the same place for a while?
I've been told that when you use last year's crop for starts, you will begin to get a disease or fungus or some such . . .

That all could be. I’m not right up on that stuff. But one should rotate their potatoe growing spots every 3 years. That’s what the commercial growers do.

I've been rotating my sweet corn and potatoes for years now and haven't had any issues.
I suppose I'm leaving myself open for trouble now.

We put more emphasis on what goes into the compost bins at the end of the year than rotation. We do rotate some but not every year.

I try to rotate all the garden crops around each year. I have 5 compost bins and each one has 4 legs under them. Their favorite items are the coffee filters and squash skins.
