Tilled with my new Wheel Horse C160

OK now you've done it. There are two Wheel Horse tractors that have been setting out in the hangar for a couple of years. Next week I'm going to bring one in the shop and get it going . Don't know what it is but I like those tractors from that era.

Fantastic! It will be interesting to see what you get!

I use a Brinly cultivator on a RAM in the garden. Only I straddle the rows with a much lighter tractor for less compaction. Haven't done a thing since I run the Rain Bird and then it started to rain a little off and on. Have all the vine type plants to put in yet. Wanted to get some pics yesterday but ran out of time before I got that far. Today is not a good day for pics. Not many Wheel Horse GT's around this area that I have seen or heard of. Lot of green and yellow though.

Non rain today but sure to wet to do anything in the dirt. Have about a 4' grass strip around the garden, wider is a couple places. Run down and took a couple pics a bit ago. First is 4 rows of onions. Second is the Radish, Lettuce, Beets, & Spanish, third is the Cabbage, Broc., Caul., Pepper plants inside the rings. 4th is the unworked area for the vine crops.

Rings are the core from filed tile rolls Most are 18: some are 14" and a few small 10" regular tile scrap pieces. Protects the plants from the wind and rabbits but they get plenty os sun and warms ground. All are mulched good also.

Very nice. I use old tires in the same way you use the field tile.

We used old tires split around all the new trees and shrubs when we bought this place. I like the tile as they are lighter and easier to handle plus taller. Haven't had rabbits go over them yet. We use what is available to us.

Ground dried a lot today with light wind and full sunshine. May be able to till the bigger area in the morning. Then the granddaughter can help plant some of the stuff. 8 yo and she has planted her Big Moon pumpkins the last 2 years and thinks that is he neatest thing. Have 2 hours of mowing to do also tomorrow before it starts to rain again. At least we are not flooding. Few guys around are really upset because of the rain. Can't get in the fields. Strictly row crop farmers. Work a couple months to get the drops planted, hire the spraying done through the summer and work a couple months in the fall to harvest. Probably another few weeks to haul the grain to sell. Rest of the time ? ? No livestock, no hay ground, nothing to do. Don't come crying on my shoulder.
