Two WheelHorses followed me home

After years of wanting an old tractor and not enough money to justify buying them. I’ve had two WheelHorses fall into my lap in the last week or so. Both were from elderly relatives who are downsizing things. One is a 1978 C-141 and the other is 1996 M12. Both run and have mower decks with them. Just got the M12 yesterday and the C-141 last Saturday so no time to play with them yet.

Appear to be very nice machines. They would be much easier to see out in their natural habitat. :)
Don

Thanks Don. I'm looking forward to putting them to work soon. The M12 Has been garage kept it's whole life. Hasn't been ran in the last 3 years. Been sitting with a full tank of gas this whole time, so I'm going have to drain it and possibly clean out the tank. The back tires on the C 141 won't hold air for very long. Need to look into that yet. All in all not bad.

Looks like a great team of horses there, John! I too like that they are family! Both of my Massey Ferguson's came from close friends so that's a connection that makes them almost a good as from family! The old MTD 800 LT out in a shed that I mowed with for around 30 years was my Uncle's before I got it!

Keep us posted on your progress with them!

it is nice that they both came from people I knew. Must admit I didn’t really think about that until I had them.

I hope to get started on things with them soon. Problem is the job time keeps biting into the play time.

Very nice tractors, you'll get years of service out of them. The later model is more than likely a model '312' since it has a 'M' series Kohler on it. Is it a hydro or manual trans? 3sp or 4sp with high/low.

Thank you very much. It does have a manual 4 spd with a high/low range. I’m sure you are right about model 312. It came with a couple of Manuel’s that I haven’t had time to sit down and look at but I did see 312 on the one.

Isn't that the truth! Work gets in the way of the fun constantly!

As far as I can tell they are both original. A power washing and some routine maintenance is the plan so far. I'm going to use them as they were intended. Really looking forward to using the 312-8. Unfortunately due to work and life in general that may not be happening until spring of 2021.

Nice looking tractors. Any other attachments come with them. Nice to know the people and history of them. I’m sure you’ll be posting pictures.

Noel

Noel, they both only have mower decks. May eventually try to find a plow blade for one or the other. I’ll keep this updated as I get things done with them.

312-8 cut grass today for the first time in 3 years. I haven’t had time to do anything to it except drain the old fuel and add some fresh. Purred like a kitten. I had a short video but couldn’t get it to post.

Couple of nice tractors. I have a real soft spot for those older Wheel Horse tractors.
Wish you lived closer as I have a snow blower for one of those I'm sick of tripping over.
