Welder issues

May be stating the obvious here... are you using the right rollers? For solid wires the rollers should be smooth V-groove and for flux-cored wired it should be knurled V-grooved to provide more traction with less pressure.
Manual shows the weldpak roller does both types of wire because of the way it design

Are you using flux core if so you can put flat spots on your wire by adjusting rollers too tight. A clean liner & a new tip should eliminate that end. If still having problems I would check your roller adjustment & even clean the rollers.

Does the whistles pitch change when you increase pressure of shielding gas. That would indicate debris in line???

Been fixed for awhile I cleaned out the liner and the rollers. It does even now and then stop feeding and I have to shut the machine off and on so something might be going out on the inside but I guess I will keep using it until it does.

Does your welder have a cooling fan? If so it might need to be cleaned and lubed.

That could be the noise. I still don't understand with the rollers stop feeding sometime. It not the tip or liner the machine just stop feeding until I shut it off and on

i have a 140 also, i use it for work, flux only.
the company i work for replaced my old 125 this summer with this cause its a flux/ solid wire machine. The brain trust said we want only gas welds from now on! We weld only outside!o_O Im still using flux.
anyhow im on my third 2lb spool, and its starts stuttering, figured I pinched the lead replaced it and the tip, didnt change, another new tip, same, new spool, yup same, cleaned the spool holder, nada. First two spools no issues but they were lincoln brand
We started getting our consumables from Airgas, so the the new wire, liner and tips are airgas house brand.
Im starting to think these lincoln only like lincoln stuff.

I have a old CEE wire machine must be 25 yrs old only one liner in all that time and that was my fault. Still works, no issues

There is a lot comes into play here. Check and see if the rollers are turning when it quits feeding. If they are then try putting more tension on the rollers. If it still wont feed then there is a problem with the liner or the tip. One last this is to check the tension on the wire spool. Usually replacing the liner or the tip will cure the problem. Make sure the tips are the right size wire.

Rollers aren't turning when it quits feeding. Tips are the right size and I change them out often it probably wasteful but it better safe than sorry.

I haven't tried any different wire yet in it other than Lincoln it seems to be the cheapest I find local. I only weld flux too everything I do is outside.

If your rollers aren't turning when you squeeze the trigger than you have other problems. The switch in your gun is bad, the connection from your gun to the welder could be the problem. Broken wires, bad contactor, or a number of other things. Your probably at the point where someone who can read and understand the wiring schematic is going to have to trouble shoot the problem for you.

Only does it every now and then. I will probably order a new gun soon.

My flux core wire will stop feeding once in a while. I grab the wire at the tip with a pliers and squeeze the trigger and pull at the same time. Cut the wire back and it is good to go again. I think the wire is hanging up on the spool causing this.

You don't have the spool too tight do you? That can cause a noise similar to a whistle/squeal! Also keep it from feeding.
