Tomorrow this will be on the auction block unadvertised and I am pretty interested ,She says FORD on the hood ???But the tag says western auto by MTD!It is a hydro ,It has a 16 hp briggs in it currently ,I happen to have the very same engine in my shop that is in great shape and needs a new home.No deck,Or attachments but look at those AG tires!I think by the looks of things it has a hydraulic lift.I think it could be a heck of a tractor once fixed up,It obviously does NOT run right now.Tell me what ya all think ASAP because I only have tonight to think about it and how much I want to spend on it,I am also looking at a snow blower and some chain saws for repair then flip,This I was thinking might be a good tractor for a loader and a back blade maybe??Thank you in advance for your opinions good and bad!!

Eaton hydro, and good tractors! Yes, it will have hydraulic lift, and easy enough to build a 3 point for it. Not the original fuel tank, as they had a long tank that filled the entire hood length on the left side of the engine. Looks like the dash is not even cracked, which is rare to find. With the hi/lo trans, it would be great for back blade and/or a loader.

What kind of dollar amount do you spend on one of these,Its just as you see it in the pics and not running

Same rear end as a ford/Jacobsen it looks like. Someone spent a lot of time to paint it the same colours as a ford 8n farm tractor. Neat. Be prepared to take extra money with you so !!! You can get it. Nice rear tires.

Yep its a 990, 15" tires were prob $400 alone, but they are skid steer tires not AGs. The dash looks decent which is rare but for some reason the hood is not fitting correctly. The belts for the pto are not there so I would check if the pto itself is under the tractor at the rear of the engine. Front engine pulley for the starter/gen is missing... I wouldnt go more than $200 tops myself

Well stuff at the auction was more of a buyers day,Stuff sold poorly,I bought the 990 for $125 and I picked up a set of Iron cub cadet rear wheel weights for $2 and a like new Agri - Fab yard steel dump yard cart for $10 and a cub cadet narrow frame front blade for $1 I watched a Stihl ms 260 chainsaw that fired and ran fine with an extra bar in good shape ,The saw was just dirty and dusty bring $15 Then a Poulan wood shark chain saw non running but looked nice bring $35,I bought a propane or natural gas ventless wall heater that was in real good shape for $1.I came home with a trailer load and the Explorer full for really nothing,.Some of the stuff I bought will be for sale in our store.Only bad part of the day was I blew a tire on the trailer 10 miles from home so I had to go buy a new tire and rim combo. That sucked!I watched on of those Handi Man I believe it was named bull dozers,The little ones the size of a garden tractorThis on had 2 sets of tracks and a bucket and a brush mower. It ran and operated great and was like new.It brought $1,500,I wish it was in my pocket book but not this time of year!

If I run into a sale like that I tell myself that I can't afford not to buy it....at least that's what I tell the wife.;)

You must be glad you went.... You got some good buys.

Oh I am like anybody else that likes a bargain,I love to get it as cheap as possible but part of me always feels bad for the sellers in auctions like this.I am paid hundreds of dollars or thousands in some cases for a day of work,I am supposed to make the seller as much as possible for their items but sometimes it doesnt work out and ya feel a little guilty in a way I guess,If I get something that is quite valuable for really nothing I will ask the seller if they want the Item back,Most do say NO however. and I guess they could have set a reserve price also ,,,But I do enjoy my trophies though!!
