Well , the 446 Case is broke again.

I don't blame you for not wanting to fight the tubes again Noel! I like steve b's idea there! I've got those "T" shaped valve tools, but you still have to remove it to air up the tube. That clamp would allow the air chuck.

I have the "T" tool also. Have a BIG LONG pair of needle nose pliers to hold the stem when airing.

Ya, but wouldn’t of been so bad if the stems were offset on the tube. These tubes, the stem is in the middle. Any way, there in. So I set one wheel beside the other wheel on the Case today. Gunna look good, when ever I get a chance to but them on. And stupid me, I never checked to see if the wheels will even fit. Hub on wheel might be to long or spindle on tractor to short. Be just my luck. Any way, a few pictures of the tire beside tractor. And you can see why it might be a little while yet before I can get the tractor out. Sorry Doug, I accidentally got the h@!$t in the picture. Hehe.

It wasn't me who was offended by pictures of the h@!$t, Noel, I was just jealous---LOL! I was just trying to help you be politically correct for folks that got offended by pics of your ---ahhh you know what I mean---LOL!

I've never had a tri-rib tire before, but sure can see how those things would help turn the tractor while plowing dirt. Are they a big help in snow too?

Found a neat way to cover the tires and paint wheels. Don’t know if I cans explain it right, but the fella used a garbage bag. He cut out the centre of the bag, say the wheel is 15”, he cut out 13” about. Then pull the bag around the rim like an elastic. Video on it. But I have no idea how to post it.

Well got the tires and wheels on today. Looks alright. Now if the garage ever gets cleaned out. I could get the tractor out for a test run. I guess the tires will never look that clean again any way, mud coming soon. 8 degrees Celsius next two days. Sorry again Doug about the you know what in the picture.

Well new front tires on the Case 446 got there first run outside today. All dirty. Good to get them broke in. A lot easier to steer. One hand mostly now. Before both hands. And got the rear weights off the other day for painting.

And what could I use for new brake lining material that I can get locally ?

Noel.

If you have a clutch brake shop near you they may have what you need other wise its available from McMaster-Carr I just ordered some 1" and 2" the other day

So I got the brake fixed up. I’m the type that fix’s, makes, reuse, find used, last resort, buy new. I get that from my father. Any way, my son had a few sets of new emergency brake drum shoes in his stock of stuff. So I took two of those and cut sections of the brake lining material into about 3/4 sizes, cleaned up the brake band, and glued on the pieces on to the band. Used zip ties to hold them in place. Left it for a day or so. Cut the zip ties off, and there ya go. Brake lining. Glued on with a product called Goop, which I use a lot of. I spaced the pieces apart some so it will flex. The Goop stays flexible too. So I installed it yesterday and adjusted the band. After a few high speed runs and jamming the brakes on, I’ll readjust. Hehe. It’ll work fine. Any way, some pictures,

Noel

Got the 75 lb weights painted too. Not fussy on the type of paint. The brushed stuff seems to stay soft and the spray can of stuff seems to thin. Colour is not to bad thou. Wish I knew more about paints. Some times when I paint some thing it works great, other times not, like when I painted the wheels for the Case, the paint never seemed to harden. Even after many days of drying, if you put your finger nail on the paint and pushed a little, it would easily leave a mark.

Well, the 446 Case is broke again. !!!! Finished fixing up the brake, repaired a small leak in the hydrualic line and other small items. Figured I’d take it out for a test run. Got about 30’ outside and it quit. Restarted it, run for about 30 seconds then quit. Hmmm, first time for that. Figured out of gas, no, but put some in any way. Still quit. Checked vent on gas cap. Was ok. So restart run fine then quit. So finally got it back into the garage. Sounds exactly like no fuel trouble. Finally no start. Ideas, please.

Noel

I forgot what engine is in that 446, Noel. Sure does sound like fuel starvation, but can only think of a partially clogged fuel line, or filter that finally clogged clear up. I'm sure you checked spark too.
