What did you do with your tractor today?

Got the mowing done with the MF12G. Started kind of late as father in law is in the hospital and if he got out today we were going to drive them home. They are keeping him in tonight too. Had a shoulder replacement but his oxygen levels are too low to leave yet.

Did my laundry while waiting for word from Loree. She got word about 2pm so it was time to fire up the old tractor and mow. Had a lot of rain last night so almost no dust at least. Sweat was another story---LOL!

This is the 9th mowing season on that Predator 13HP engine. Besides being rich at idle it has never given me any issues. Still seems as strong as the first time I mowed with it. Actually plowed s-word with it a couple years when the MF8E was down too. Ran and mowed great as usual.

Rich at idle? Tell me your secret, my 13 runs lean. I even up the main jet to 2 sizes bigger when I added the pod filter. Once I open exhaust, I'll probably need to go even bigger.

Can't tell you my secret---since I don't know what it is, Marty---LOL! Elevation maybe? 3700 ft. Put the smallest jet in that came with the "elevation kit". Didn't help a lot. I just don't let it idle a lot.

My Ingersoll 3014 has bugged me for a long time. It has always given me trouble to start it. It has to be on full chock and the throttle set in just the right spot (hi idle). Some times I put it on 3/4 and then jerk it down to hi idle while cranking it. In spite of all that, I still may need to use ether. I have cleaned the carb; I have switched the carb.
Another thing: I thought about checking the timing. The M14 magneto engine doesn't have any way to adjust the timing.
I have finally gotten mad. I have torn it down to install all new fuel line, a new fuel pump and filter.
This isn't related, but I am also replacing the throttle and choke cables while I am at it.

Got the mowing done by 11am with the MF12G. Did the ditch out front too. It ran and mowed great! Did the trimming and sprayed weeds too. Did them the old fashioned way---walking. My back is telling me I'm an idiot now. Should have fired up to mobility scooter but I figured I should get the exercise.

I'm right there with you DAC. I could feel it when I was sanding the siding on the house next to the ground. My back doesn't like the hunched over with a side tilt much any more. I'm fine being upright bucking bales..... Dang it!!!!

There is nothing strenuous about what I did, but like you say it's that being stooped over a little that tears me up. Of course I may not even be able to pick up a bale, much less tossing them anymore---LOL!

The bale I made were around 55-60 lbs. Then ones I bought last fall were 70 lbs. Third layer up from the floor was ll I could muster. Hand carted them from the trailer to the stack pen in the barn. Now with a bad knee and back I am down to one slab at a time.

Got mowing to do but my mower is down. Found the carb float about 1/3rd full of fuel. New float came in yesterday but the shop was closed for a day at the state fair. Carolyn's tractor needs a new battery. Will get that today. Finally remembered to get some photos of the landscaping we been doing. Moved to the Front of the house now. Got 6 bags had trucked to the area and me knee gave out. Little by little we will get it done. Hot humid weather back with us again for the weekend. Neither of us can take the heat so only get 1/2 days in at a time.

First photo is of the East end of the garage/shop taken off the end of the grill extension on the deck. The building on the right is the goat brn which sits about 7 feet lower than the garage. Second is the smaller that just needs to pond cleaned out and water pump put in and hand rails along the ramp to the enclosed deck. The green door top center goes into the tools room. White overhead to the left goes into the shop area.

You two are doing some nice work there Rog! You have a beautiful setting to work with too! Couple of those goats are thinking you are going to bring them a treat it looks like!

Cut and split wood. And last Saturday. Used the Case 446 with loader. How I’d git along without out a loader for all these years ?????

Not going that route this year. First year in many the we will no be burning wood. Plugged the flue with insulation above and at the damper, caped the two outside air intakes, all the wood burning related items from the grate on was washed and moved to the storage container. Put in an 30" electric log type burner but won't use the heat as we have a leaded glass screen in front of the log. Makes a real warm feeling without all the work and dirt.

I’m going to take my Case 446 with loader to the Dundas Plow Match event, and put it in the parade on Saturday. And it will be my transportation around the grounds for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
