What Zero Turn Mower Would You Recommend???

I dont get the big aversion to the stick steer. They are not that hard to run, unless you get a Walker. That is the most screwed up drive I have ever seen.

Why don't you let your mom pick out the type of mower she wants to use? Let her drive them, and just play around with them some. The lap steer as some refer to them are not hard to learn to use. All depends on the individual. I would definitely keep the JD for her. Just because it has other capabilities don't mean it has to be used for them. Always people looking for attachments so won't be hard to move them if she wants. What ever sdhe is comfortable with, not what you think she, or your would want.

If you're lucky, you could find a low-hours commercial-grade machine that will last a lifetime for personal use.

A couple years ago I picked up a mid-1990s Ransomes Bob-Cat - 25hp, 61". It's wide and low compared to a Sears SS16 or Case 44. Very stable on hill sides. I replaced the turf tires with ag tires and I'm much happier with the control.

Compared to the garden tractors, my cutting time is easily cut in half. Used to be a battle to get the boys to cut the grass. Now it's a battle to get seat time. I like the lever controls. After a few minutes you quit steering and you let your body just think it's way around the yard.
