Wheel weight time,

Got to start the process of getting the tractors ready for winter. So after scratching the new paint on the wheel weight and wheel, I have one of the 75 lb weights on the Case 446. Have chains too, that were on the original turf tires, I’ll see if they will fit on the ag tires.

Yes Lance there is room. But I figured I’d do it this way. Gunna scratch some thing either way I think. My luck. Painters brush, some white and orange paint and nobody will know. Just a tractor. But it’s the only nice thing I ever had. Not fun getting it scratched up.

There now. Chains and other weight on. Not perfect, but ya gotta use what you have. On to the snocaster now. Service and hopefully a quick coat of paint on it, before the “&@)(&¥%|=£€?
Chains a little loose, so will use some inner tubes to tighten them up a bit. But don’t want them to tight.

Looks like those weights would work on both sides of the wheel if you could find another pair of them... 150# per side would put the tractor a little over 1000# without attachments.
I dont like the chains but that is a good lookin tractor Noel.... well done! ;)

Not much room between the wheel and hydraulic motor on these Cases. The 446 has some, but Lance mentioned about an inside weight, it would have to be about 2” thick in order to fit. Pictures of the 446 and 224. Hardly any room on the 224. You can see the worn mark on the motor body from what I believe is from the chains, for winter use. Second picture.

See..... chains will always damage something eventually..Lol

I wonder if Case made any thinner weights that might fit inside... if not it isnt hard to make weights out of 1/4 plate and tack them together until you get as many layers as will fit. Those 44X tractors dont have alot of weight to them and what they do have is high so anything you can add to the wheels will lower the cog.

Looks great Noel did you ballast the tires also? Did those wt come with the Case I've not seen that type of wts on a Case before mine all have solid centers with holes around the outer edge these are Case wts on my PK

No Gary. These weights I bought from a fella who had them on his farm tractor. He had a Ford 3900 two wheel drive tractor with a blower. He had these weights on the front wheels. Case rear big wheels are the same as most older Two wheel drive farm tractors. These weights fit perfect. I’m guessing that the 16” rear wheels on Power King tractors could be the same too. These weights I have are engraved with, En Fo, fella I bought them off said it meant, England Ford.
No I don’t have the tires loaded Gary. It would add a good extra amount of weight, but just a pain if you have a flat. I do have other tractors that have loaded tires. Just not my favourite thing.

You stay right on top of all the details getting ready for winter, Noel! I have one set of MF weights and they have found a pretty much permanent home on the MF8E even though they came with the MF12G. The 8E has snow duties again. Chains stay on it year-round too. I've got a bunch of iron around here to build more weights, but getting to it is another story!
Love that Ford script logo on those weights!

Hi Noel those wt sure do fit and look good on the Case and yes they would go right on the Power King so if you tire of them I 'll take them off your hands ;), I ballast my tires with windshield washer fluid -25*F stuff each tire will hold 10 gals with room left for air
