What are you currently working on??

I’m building a WW1 trench model with my oldest daughter for her high school history class. I took a card board box and we cut it up to make a trench. She dug up dirt to use, and got a bunch of clay and supplies at the craft store.

So far it’s looking pretty cool.

That is going to be a cool diorama, Aaron! Hope you show us progress pics!

We put our 40 ft container on a slab. The guy that gave it to us had it on railroad ties. His ground was pretty wet and the container sweat like crazy. We don't have nearly as much of a moisture problem as he had.
It is almost desert out here. In most places they could sit right on the ground, with no issues. Best to support them somehow though. I sure want one!

On a road trip in Ohio. .
Since John died (owner of farm where I store the junk I don't have room for at home) the family has been cleaning up the property, it looks like they are gonna extend the farm field across what (used to be? ) his front yard, they have an excavator out there taking down all the trees. And a huge burn pile. Though they told me "no worries" I know I have to get rid of my extra stuff. Before it becomes a worry.
I have a lot of parts from 2 parts campers I gutted like my previous camper I really don't want to throw away, as one of my buddies has been asking me about what parts I do have left over the past couple of off seasons, as it seems like everyone calls him about where to find various parts, never me. He then calls me to see what I have....
And I'm onto a truck project// a couple of months ago I happened across a few parts via marketplace that are tough to get, and they happened to be in the same town as one of my camping buddies. He went and bought them for me, and brought them to his house. So I finally got a weekend to be able to make a run out here and get my Bell housing and flywheel. He didn't know I was bringing a pickup load to leave here.
As it turns out I left with a pickup load for the ride back. He had gutted a different camper to make a utility trailer out of, a little bigger than our apache's. He saved all the bed cushions from it that will fit my current camper, plus the rooftop ac unit out of it. And a HF pressure sandblaster. Those I think I can sell off easier than parts for a camper not made since the very early 80s... Head back tomorrow in what sounds like will be a wet ride back.

I hear you on a camper. I once owned an early 1980s camper. Restored it in 2004 with plumbing upgrades and a modern fridge. I broke even when I sold it. Yet for about 10 years we enjoyed camping around the country and went on many manufacturing food plant tours and amusement parks. Then a few fishing trip outings. Those were fun times.

This is what I did today, I manufactured tractor parts. :D

Mine would have to be on a rock bed. Larger rocks under and then the pea gravel atop. Our stable riding shed we ordered from the Amish builders is our goat milking room with stainless counters and heavy milk stands. We've had no critters living under it and the site still sits perfect level since the day it was placed.

When mine arrives, it would be on a foundation like this.

I've seen others who own a HF cement mixer or rent one from Menards to pour a foundation like this.

Would cost twice the container cost to buy the rock, have it hauled, form it up not to mention all the labor. Took me 2 days to recover from doing it with blocks. The first one we got in 2022 settled about 1.5" the first year. After that no more movement. Sitting on a lot flatter ground though.

Rough storms rolled through early this morning, it did manage to wake me up.
I have to staple my house wrap back up and a large tree limb to cut up. Thankfully no other damage besides small branches and my drive washed out again....that's just more tractor time ;)

I have been watching the Weather Channel in the mornings and sure have been thinking about all you folks SE of here. There have been a lot of heartbreaking pictures and videos from out that way. Glad your damage wasn't any worse, Marty!

I feel for those people caught in the path of those storms. Still in recovery mode here from the one last May 22nd. The 16' X 32' roof off one building is still laying upside down. Will take a tele-handler to roll it back upright on the ground again before it can be disassembled. My neighbor has the machine but is afraid to do it, says they get to tippy when up in the air that high. It is on flat ground but next to a fence so cant get under it from the back side. Have it chained up in 3 places to lift and roll it from the front side. Meanwhile I'm still moving and downsizing my wood shop into a 20 container.

I changed the drive belt on my MF7. The old one must have been at least 30 years old, since that’s about how long the tractor sat before I got it. It may have even still been the original one. It was starting to slip when releasing the “clutch”.

It was dark and raining when I finished, so I couldn’t take out for a test drive, but I drove it back and forth in the garage a few times and it seems much better. Hopefully it’s nicer tomorrow and I can take it for a ride.

I also got two new belts for the mower deck since they are just as old. I don’t have that on the tractor right now, but I will probably be putting it back on soon.

That MF7 looks almost like it just rolled out of the dealership, Nick! Nice work getting the belts updated. My 1965 MF8E still had original belts far as I know. I have owned it 34 years. Still works good but I better consider new ones one of these days!

Still moving stuff from the wood shop to the container. Jave 3 large drawers of wood working attachments etc to get in toats yet and should have most of it ready to move. At least it is only a 50' move but now power in the container yet.

The wind has dried the ground out a bunch since the last rain several weeks ago. Grass is not growing at all. Haven't thought about mowers yet.
It was very dry looking in Iowa and Missouri when we drove through there Thursday and yesterday Rog. We hit several rain squalls driving home from Sioux Falls today, but the wind with them was awful. Hope some of that rain reaches you.
