What are you currently working on??

I found this place when I was doing insurance work. Had to do a policy renewal inspection and it had a for sale sign. 2 months later we bought the place. Can't find the pictures of the place as we bought it. First time my Mother saw it she said Roger I think you lost your mind. Year later she bought two trees for the front yard.

Cleaned the carb on my daughter's ex-boyfriends toro push mower. He couldn't get it to start, it's got one of those weird flywheel driven auto chokes. I found the coil was touching the flywheel so I re-gapped it. I cleaned carb, the little idle port on the end was plugged which I think cause his starting issues. Started in first pull after I put it together, but still runs not perfectly smooth, plug looks rough too, I may get a new one. Also sharpened the blade.

Then I replaced the battery on my Sears 16/6 and winch wouldn't work, I haven't had it out of barn since last fall. Seems I had a lot of corrosion on connections and the main fuse for the battery wire to the ignition had a short, sometimes it would work then not. Replaced the fuse and a few new eyelet connectors and everything worked. I removed the snow blade and installed my homemade Johnny bucket for future work I have planned.

Today didn't go as planned.

I had planned to paint our mailbox, then work on tractors, but I had another tree come down. This one on top of garden.

I did get mailbox removed, used air die grinder with a wire wheel and my grinder with flap wheel to clean off the rust. Then used a metal prep conversion solution, the etch primer then primer the 2 coats of rustoleum farm black. Taped off flag and used some cranberry red since it was all I had.

Pretty rusty after many years.

Did a small spot weld in the corner with the flux core, it'll hold. Then prepped.
You can see the green paint my sister painted back in early 70's when mom and dad bought the house, this ole mailbox is definitely an antique.

All painted and shiny.
If I can find my stencils, I'll paint the house number. If not I'll go buy some stickies.

We had this large mulberry by garden, ive wanted to cut it down for several years. Came out to feed this morning and found the big limb on the garden. I spent the afternoon cutting all the limbs and cleaning up. The weight is all resting on the last limb, I need my boy out there with me to finish it off, too much of a widow maker to do by myself.
Bent my chicken kennel panel too.

I have the large mail box that was t the farm back before I started school, 1945 era. Land owners used it for many years when they lived there so it has to be over 100 years old. Has several patched bullet holes in it but still in very usable condition. Keep it by the house as I bought another at an auction several years ago that is the used mail box. Price one of them lately? Can't find any of the round top one. Everything is squared corners any more. Good looking mail box.

We decide last winter that that was going to be the last of burning wood in the fireplace. Found an electric on with heater (which won't be used) and ordered it. Came the other day so yesterday was the day to clean out the fireplace, gather all the equipment to use one outside on the drive. Used the big shop can to clean up the ashes. etc. got the electric fireplace in place and the beveled glass screen I bought at auction last summer in front. This morning loaded all the parts and pieces up and headed for the scrap pile for the grate and the rest went in storage. Daughter will get the wood for their firepit. That will free up the mud room that was used for one rack of wood along the one wall. I is only a 6X8 room to start with.

The 70 Torino saga continues.. Put a new alternator in but still not working..:confused:

I rewired the Regulator to Alternator wiring after much web research I found the actual wiring diagram for that year and model!

Put things back together and it lives and breathes and charges yet again! It's a beautiful day to cruise with the top down in WNY!

had 7 of my 8 (didnt know I had "that" many yikes) Coleman stoves fired up a little while... 6 at one time/ and played with a couple of my Coleman lanterns,,,, only 2 or 3 of those, out of about 2 dozen or so I have..... Out of that many, a couple are "parts" probably 16-18 will fire right off if I try... will probably try to sell off 3-4 of those stoves (know I wont get much) as there are 2 sizes of 2 burner stoves/ and the bigger case ones (model 413) work out better for us than the small case ones (#425) The wife likes the 3 burner (#426) the best, that one I did have to work on today, was the first one I pulled out cuz I remember it not holding pressure in the tank at the end of last year.... I had to replace the check valve under the pump up plunger to get that one going. I have a red single mantle #200 lantern that needs one too.... I had that do something really crazy to me Ive never seen before. Every time I pumped that one it blew fuel back at me out the center hole (the one youre supposed to cover with a thumb as you pump) That is a first!
I came in to cool off and the wife asked "what was all over the camper"? I had no idea there was anything.... I had to go look... I set up a 6' table close to the camper and I didnt realize but that lantern peed out that hole all over the back corner of the camper.... yikes. were taking 2 of teh stoves next weekend when we go camping.... and probably 3 lanterns. I have one yellow globe (think like the yellow bulbs they sold to screw in your eave lights for bugs, etc) I think Im gonna take that one this time

Are you going to show us your Torino, Tink? I would dig seeing it! If you have posted about it I am sorry I missed it!

How did I forget about that car?! I’m glad you got it figured out now

Finally getting around to posting about myself now. Today was a super hot day with 95 degree temperatures so I did not do anything until this evening when it cooled down alittle. Today I finally got to finish painting my gas tank, my belt guard, and my air cleaner lid for my yellow 10 horsepower Craftsman that my stepdad helped with the headlight wiring on. I just need my seat back from my fabrication guy, and my steering wheel back from my stepdads friend then it can finally go back together and I can finally drive it again after a year….
