What are you currently working on??

I found this place when I was doing insurance work. Had to do a policy renewal inspection and it had a for sale sign. 2 months later we bought the place. Can't find the pictures of the place as we bought it. First time my Mother saw it she said Roger I think you lost your mind. Year later she bought two trees for the front yard.

Cleaned the carb on my daughter's ex-boyfriends toro push mower. He couldn't get it to start, it's got one of those weird flywheel driven auto chokes. I found the coil was touching the flywheel so I re-gapped it. I cleaned carb, the little idle port on the end was plugged which I think cause his starting issues. Started in first pull after I put it together, but still runs not perfectly smooth, plug looks rough too, I may get a new one. Also sharpened the blade.

Then I replaced the battery on my Sears 16/6 and winch wouldn't work, I haven't had it out of barn since last fall. Seems I had a lot of corrosion on connections and the main fuse for the battery wire to the ignition had a short, sometimes it would work then not. Replaced the fuse and a few new eyelet connectors and everything worked. I removed the snow blade and installed my homemade Johnny bucket for future work I have planned.

Today didn't go as planned.

I had planned to paint our mailbox, then work on tractors, but I had another tree come down. This one on top of garden.

I did get mailbox removed, used air die grinder with a wire wheel and my grinder with flap wheel to clean off the rust. Then used a metal prep conversion solution, the etch primer then primer the 2 coats of rustoleum farm black. Taped off flag and used some cranberry red since it was all I had.

Pretty rusty after many years.

Did a small spot weld in the corner with the flux core, it'll hold. Then prepped.
You can see the green paint my sister painted back in early 70's when mom and dad bought the house, this ole mailbox is definitely an antique.

All painted and shiny.
If I can find my stencils, I'll paint the house number. If not I'll go buy some stickies.

We had this large mulberry by garden, ive wanted to cut it down for several years. Came out to feed this morning and found the big limb on the garden. I spent the afternoon cutting all the limbs and cleaning up. The weight is all resting on the last limb, I need my boy out there with me to finish it off, too much of a widow maker to do by myself.
Bent my chicken kennel panel too.
