Yeah would have loved to live in a a place like yours, Rog! Just wasn't in the cards for us. We are "almost" in the country---LOL!One big advantage of living in the country is I have my own dump for everything burnable. Pile starts getting hard to dump over the bank and set it a fire, and start over.
Yes a little. You got some damage this time, Marty! Can see a rooster looking over the damage!

Sure hope not, Marty!Yes a little.
I will probably get more damage when we actually drop the 4 that are still hung up. I think they are going to come crashing down with the wrong cut.
I have the large mail box that was t the farm back before I started school, 1945 era. Land owners used it for many years when they lived there so it has to be over 100 years old. Has several patched bullet holes in it but still in very usable condition. Keep it by the house as I bought another at an auction several years ago that is the used mail box. Price one of them lately? Can't find any of the round top one. Everything is squared corners any more. Good looking mail box.Today didn't go as planned.
I had planned to paint our mailbox, then work on tractors, but I had another tree come down. This one on top of garden.
I did get mailbox removed, used air die grinder with a wire wheel and my grinder with flap wheel to clean off the rust. Then used a metal prep conversion solution, the etch primer then primer the 2 coats of rustoleum farm black. Taped off flag and used some cranberry red since it was all I had.
Pretty rusty after many years.

Did a small spot weld in the corner with the flux core, it'll hold. Then prepped.
You can see the green paint my sister painted back in early 70's when mom and dad bought the house, this ole mailbox is definitely an antique.

All painted and shiny.
If I can find my stencils, I'll paint the house number. If not I'll go buy some stickies.

Are you going to show us your Torino, Tink? I would dig seeing it! If you have posted about it I am sorry I missed it!The 70 Torino saga continues.. Put a new alternator in but still not working..
I rewired the Regulator to Alternator wiring after much web research I found the actual wiring diagram for that year and model!
Put things back together and it lives and breathes and charges yet again! It's a beautiful day to cruise with the top down in WNY!![]()
Great job on the box Marty, it looks much better now!Today didn't go as planned.
