I agree the tire and wheels look new. I also like taking the time to do the insides as well. Your whole project has been good to follow. If I ever wear out my factory ITP Mud Lites on my Honda Forman I’m going with the Sunf tires. I’ve been through everything with the factories and they are incredible but I just like the tread design and price on the Sunfs.

Thanks Jim. Eventhough you don’t see the insides, it would bother me knowing they were not painted.
Nice work, Nick! Looking forward to seeing them on your machine and getting a report on how the new tires work!

Thanks Doug. It looks like we may get some s-word over the weekend, so if the new carburetor works out, I should be able to try out the new tires then.

I got the wheels and tires, and the new carburetor on, and plowed with it Saturday. So far it’s running great. The tires are working good too. It was only 2 inches though, so it probably would have done fine even with the bald tires that were on it. It looks a lot nicer now. I put the plastics around the tank back on too.

Tires and carb makes for a pretty cheap and fun piece .

But in your 3rd picture above I see real play toy in background.. That old dozer.

Looked again and see two play toys in the background. Didn't mean the other one.. ;)

Excellent job Nick it’s been fun watching your project. I always wanted to do this but could never find a good one that was priced reasonably that wasn’t beat to death. A friend of mine has rebuilt several but has wasted a lot of money on junk and admits it. I ended up finding exactly what I always wanted so I bought a very low hour and mileage Honda.

The dozer is a 1956 IH T9. My dad bought it in the early 90s when he bought the property to clear it. The last time it ran was about 2005. It needed a bearing for the one track, he took it apart, and couldn’t find the parts at the time, so it just sat. I really want to get it running again someday. We don’t have any real need for it anymore, but I think it would be fun to play with. The other toy should probably be taken down already, it’s just something else I have to cut grass and weed wack around.

Thanks Jim. Those Honda’s are nice too. My neighbor had a nice 2005 Foreman. If this Polaris turned out to be junk I was thinking about trying to buy that from him.

That dozer really has a cool look with the shape of the structure, Eric! With that exhaust pipe open the engine has probably seized in 20 years. Same age as me---LOL!

That’s what I’m afraid of. The exhaust had a bucket over it, until a big tree branch fell on it and snapped the pipe off.
Probably wouldn't hurt to dump a pint or so of some kind of light oil down the the exhaust just to keep things from getting worse. At this point probably won't matter too much what kind of oil..guess penetrating oil would be best. Then close off the pipe with something.
Gotta keep ol DAC lubed up...!

You better go back to work, Bill, your retirement job of being a comedian is failing---LOL!

Some folks say a mix of Acetone and ATF is a good mixture to use as a penetrating oil. I've never tried it but it sounds feasable.

That sounds like a good idea, I will do that. It probably wouldn’t hurt to put some in the spark plug holes too.

I have heard that too, I need to try it sometime.
I think I might have a head gasket for that crawler hanging around here someplace. My son bought one of those and a new head gasket and then ended up selling it before he got it home.
Do you want to sell it?

I’ve been using the acetone/atf mix for a long time instead of the commercial mixes. You have to shake it up before using and keep a tight lid on it because the acetone wants to evaporate.
