Thanks Fife, I tried googling a twine bearing but nothing but bearings for hay balersThey used twine or leather .there is a grease nipple on the end of the shaft.On this plough it must have worked, one hundred percent ,there is no play at all on the shaft
Here is the end result of my hard work .Took part in a match Saturday in Killin. this is the first time I have managed to put the Harkness plough in the ground .I did very well, plenty of praise for my efforts I gained a first prize a Quaich and a bottle of whisky great when a 76 year old plough can hold its own withe big boys View attachment 68985![]()
